Aixam Cars - For An Emission Free Motoring Experience! by Tony Philip
Value creation through innovation and continuous improvement has always been the motto for AIXAM Mega. AIXAM Mega's history is not very old and it was founded in the year 1983, in France. Unique front bonnet is typical to AIXAM cars and highlights an interesting fact about their history. AIXAM carried out their manufacturing operations in an old Arola factory, which was forced to shut down its operation after it failed to make profit. It is believed that AIXAM cars were a hybrid of the same.
In the beginning their major focus was on developing micro cars. Year 2002 saw AIXAM cars entering in LUV's (Light Utility Vehicles) section. It is worth mentioning here that AIXAM cars were not only exploring new opportunities through market expansion but their perpetual technological advancement played a major role in establishing their market value. One can easily observe their commitment towards research and development in the fact that they currently manufacture latest cars with all kinds of engines (i.e., Petrol, diesel or Electric) and with a vision to offer emission free motoring experience.
Lately, AIXAM have been focusing primarily on electric motor driven vehicles, which are not only fuel efficient but also eco friendly. The last addition (non electric) to company's automobile portfolio being the AIXAM A.7XX series (powered by Kubota diesel engines), is a small size car. Talking of electric cars we have, the Mega e-City, which is now becoming a regular choice of Londoners and this car can be sighted easily on London's roads. It has the potential to reach top slot in the minds of customers as it can save drivers considerable money in a year on not only fuel, but also road taxes, and other similar charges like parking and insurance.
Keeping private drivers and commercial drivers, this car has a design which is preferable for the UK market. Average running cost for even a small or micro car with a normal engine comes around 20 pounds per mile but a Mega e-City costs much lower with just 1.5 pounds.
Quadribike (referring to a light bike with four tires) is a common name in Britain used for these cars, because of their extremely light weight and power output. Thought backed up with high credentials and green technologies these cars do not qualify for United Kingdom Tax breaks. One of the reasons could be found in the way they were brought in the United Kingdom market and the manner in which they were presented in front of US legislation.
But to achieve customer satisfaction, all AIXAM cars are offered with comprehensive warranty (i.e., two years) by the company. Also, a yearlong break down cover, with good after sales support throughout the country is made available.
